    EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR therapists use a technique called bilateral stimulation to repeatedly activate opposite sides of the brain and often use eye movements to facilitate the bilateral stimulation. After successful treatment with EMDR therapy, emotional distress is relieved, negative beliefs are reevaluated and new insights are gained. For a more detailed description, please visit the EMDR Institute, Inc. at emdr.com

    Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) has been proven to be clinically effective in the treatment of a wide range of psychological issues and disorders. ACT is a mindfulness based behavioral therapy that aims to help people accept what is out of their control and commit instead to actions that enrich their lives (Harris, 2013). ACT increases psychological flexibility through the use of acceptance, mindfulness strategies, commitment and behavior change strategies.  For more information, please visit the following website:
